Reset security questions?

I created an AppleID a number of years ago, and would like to download the Bonjour SDK for Windows. However, I cannot sign in due to the security question answers being rejected. I have tried to reset the security questions, but after supplying my ID and password, I receive a message that there is insufficient information.


I then attempted to contact support, but seem to be caught in a perpetual loop with needing to sign in, no matter which "Solution" option I choose. I have read some of the community help questions on this subject, but they are several years old, and simply seem to refer people to contact support.


I do not have an Apple device presently, and merely need to download the Bonjour SDK to help troubleshoot some mDNS/DNS-SD network issues. My primary aim is to acquire the SDK, but I am blocked by being unable to sign in. Please can someone offer some advice on how to resolve either of these problems?

After numerous attempts to sign in, and then posting here under this profile (shows as signed in), I found that I was able to download what I needed. from the developer's site (also shown as signed in).


I took the opportunity to check my account status, and was asked the same security questions, but this time the answers were accepted and I was offered to upgrade my sign in as two factor to which I declined. I'm absolutely certain that I had already entered the same answers, spelling and case on previous attempts.


I do not know what exact steps were taken to enable me to eventually sign in, but it seems that attempting to access another service with my sign in details (Community help) opened the doors. I was also offered the sign in process upgrade option during this process. I hope this helps someone who runs into similar problems.


My problem now seems to be resolved except for not being able to contact Apple Support. I'll take a pass on that.
