How can I have most recent photos on top in Photos Library

My Photos default is to have oldest on top. The option to change is grayed out. How can I get most recent photos on top.

MacBook Air (2020 or later)

Create a smart album with the following criteria:

Then you'll be able sort them chronologically with the newest on top.
