how do I uninstall macOS Big Sur

I received this macBook from a friend. When I installed the macOS Big Sur and it made my iMovie un-usable. I am trying to do an update on the iMovie but the apple id is under the previous owner of this macbook pro.


Help!

Installing MacOS rewrites about 350,000 files [not an exaggeration]. It is not UNDO-able.


When you pass off a Macintosh computer to another person, it is supposed to be erased and the original major version of MacOS installed. If you do that now, you can take it over and use your own Apple-ID going forward.
