Mac mini (2018) Big Sur - Got a message that my Music files were damaged around the time of a Big Sur update not sure if that is related. How do I get my songs and playlists back into Music? Music is coming up completely blank under Songs with no library of songs at all, physical ones on hard drive or cloud. The most recent Time Machine I have is March because of a power strip failure but that one will be fine if I can figure out what I'm looking for and how to get it to load. Losing my mind here and paying monthly for nothing. I really need my playlists and most importantly, the data about number of plays and date added for each song.

Was there an exact error message? And when does it show up exactly?


It sounds like you subscribe to Apple Music right?


If so, maybe the library is corrupted, I would try creating a new Music Library, then sign in and enable Sync Library:


Use multiple libraries in Music on Mac:

https://support.apple.com/guide/music/use-multiple-libraries-mus7663a920a/mac


Quit Music, reopen while holding Option, and choose New Library. Give it a name, choose a location and save.


Next, turn on Sync Library:


Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music:

Hope that helps. Otherwise would be be able to take screen shots of the error, and likewise what you see in Finder > Go Home > Music. And likewise while in music, select: Music > Preferences > Files? This will show the location of your media, perhaps Music is looking in the wrong location. Although if you subscribe to Apple Music, you shouldn’t need to usually.
