PDF dropdown lists aren't visible in markup

I created a PDF in Acrobat that contains text fields, check boxes and drop-down lists, as well as blank space. I'm trying to fill it out on my ipad by opening it in files and have also tried to do it by importing it into the Books app. In both cases, the drop-down lists don't display and I can't make a choice. Is there a way to fix this? The check boxes and text fields work fine, and I can add content in the blank space using pencil.

Hi jkgreen1,

It sounds like you're wondering how to fill in the text boxes on a PDF on your iPad. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities. Let's see if this helps.

You mentioned opening the PDF files, what happens when you open the file Acrobat on your iPad? If you're not sure you have it, there may be other PDF apps that may work.

It looks like you had the chance to review Save and mark up PDFs on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the Books app, but let's double-check the steps there. You won't be able to use the text field you created in Acrobat, but you will be able to use mark up to write what you need.

We hope that helps with your question and take care!
