Can I upgrade OS X Yosemite (MacBook Air 13inch-Early 2015) to macOS Big Sur directly?

"To upgrade from OS X Mountain Lion, first upgrade to OS X El Capitan, then upgrade to macOS Big Sur."
So it looks like you don't need any intermediate upgrade to go from Yosemite.
Do make sure you have a backup.
Do make sure you realize what may happen to old apps not supported on Big Sur. 32-bit app compatibility with macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 and later - Apple Support Check if your old apps will still work with with the OS you want to install - https://roaringapps.com/apps This is particularly critical if you are upgrading to Catalina or newer, as older 32 bit apps will no longer work.
