When I am out using 4G my Apple Watch series 3 does not Update with friends activity, or update friends with my activity until I am connected to WiFi and only then will it update all activity. This has only started recently. Have tried unpairing and repairing watch with iPhone but no luck. All software is up to date. Any solutions?

I believe that upload will go thru your iPhone actually..., so does the Fitness app still have access to Mobile Data on your iPhone?
OK, on the iPhone, under Settings > Mobile Data, make sure Fitness is enabled. If you disconnect from the Wi-Fi, can you still access Fitness and the Fitness+ tab for instance? If that is not working, try restart of the phone as well.
Curious problem! Just doublechecking but is it the same if you look them up on the watch too? So it is definitely a sync issue and not a glitch in building that Activity sharing view. So you are neither getting no instant notifications from their completed workouts when Wi-Fi is disabled?
In any case, I can't think of much else to do then than contacting support about this.

Yes it is on in mobile data and when WiFi is turned off I can still see all of Fitness plus, so the data is still working for the fitness app it just doesn’t update other people’s activity
