Does apple accept refurbished iphones on trade in?

Does apple accept refurbished iphones on trade in? I wish to trade in a ‘never-used’, refurbished iPhone 7 plus, 128 GB, Verizon black with no SIM card. With that said, I recently turned on the device to find the serial number. This was a replacement phone for my battery damaged original phone under the agreement with AppleCare via Verizon. I paid $500 for the refurbished iPhone last year when I didn’t return my damaged phone in the alotted time. Down with COVID-19 for weeks, a lot of things fell through the cracks. Now I’m concerned this $500 phone is worth $0.00 but hope to find out otherwise?

I would suggest you call Apple and ask that question. If they do accept it this will give you an idea of what it is worth - > Apple Trade In - Apple
