Compatibility of this Adapter Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter

I have a 2020 Macbook Air that has a USB-C connection. I want to connect this computer to my Roku TV using a cable with an HDMI connector on one end and a Thunderbolt connection on the other end. I am looking for an adapter that will allow me to use the cable I currently have. Is this possible with the adapter Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter?

Here is the Apple text that gave me the idea in the first place:

“This adapter is bidirectional, which means you can use it to connect Thunderbolt 3 devices to a Mac that has a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 port. In that case, the Mac must be using macOS Sierra or later, and the device using Thunderbolt 3 must provide its own power.”

If I plug the Thunderbolt 2 end of this cable into my OG Mac Thunderbolt port, and plug the USB-3 end of the cable from the SSD into the other end of this cable (the Thunderbolt 3 end), any chance this would work🧐
