MacBook Air M1 Battery Health

When it comes to batteries on any device, they are consumable parts which means the maximum capacity will drop over time.

80 cycles on your computer and 98% maximum capacity seems normal.

The MacBook Air battery is expected to last for around one thousand cycles, so if you have 80 already, you are getting close to 10% of that, so again 98% maximum capacity seems about right.

Additionally, your MacBook is covered by Apple's Limited Warranty for 1 year from the date of purchase, so in case the battery somehow malfunctions within that time frame, Apple can help you replace it.

Hi Team,

My M1 Macbook air battery capacity drops to 98% in just 34 cycles. Can I know the reason why it is dropped so fast? is that normal? I have only used 5% out of 1000 cycles and it doesn't look normal to me.

• I have turned on my optimized battery charging
• Brightness at 40%
• using 70% silicon apps

I would be grateful if someone responds to me.
