Migration seems to have stopped

Migrating from MacBook Pro to Mac Air. All was going well, but it is now stuck with 2 hrs 7 minutes left. Migrating over wireless. Have no idea what to do.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.3

You are always better off with a cable connection in transferring large amount of data/user account compared to wifi.

The most trouble free way to move to a new machine, is using the Setup Assistant on the initial boot of a brand new machine— you have one shot here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205749

If that opportunity has past, the second best way is use the Migration Assistant.

What to do— try again.

Hello Jmhwhm,

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue moving data from your MacBook Pro to your MacBook Air, correct? We want to see how we can help.

Just to confirm, are you using these steps to move data to your new Mac? Move your content to a new Mac

Has it made any progress at all, or is the estimated time remaining still showing 2 hours and 7 minutes at this point?

The amount of time it takes the migration to complete can vary depending on how much data is being transferred. Large transfers can take several hours to complete.

Thanks!
