Preview app not printing PDF with text and png or tiff with transparent background - images print with black box background.

Preview app is not printing png or tiff used in PDF file with transparent background - prints a black box for the background with clip art. I'm not having this problem with jpeg used in a PDF file printed from Preview app. When purchasing educational products from Teachers pay Teachers - I don't have control over how the PDF documents were created using jpeg vs png or Tiff. This problem is wasteful of my black ink, paper, money, and time.

I've found a solution in the past to print from Adobe Acrobat Reader, so this seems like a Preview app problem and not a printer settings problem (I've searched all printer settings Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4740 and have found no setting that fixes this issue).

I don't want to download Adobe Acrobat Reader or any other apps not available on apple's MacBook Pro macOS Big Sur 11.3.1 App Store. What other apps or solutions have you used to properly print a PDF made with text and PNG or Tiff images.

I found one option, though may be time consuming and not ideal for printing a large volume of pages or a whole PDF file.

Export an individual page from PDF file as a JPEG and open with Preview app - then printing works fine from Preview app when printing a JPEG file. See attached image, print and file on the left is PDF with text and PNG image, print and file on the right is JPEG.

I'd still prefer a less time consuming fix if anyone has any suggestions, please.
