Steps when not wearing Watch, but having iPhone on me.

I just purchase d a new series 6 watch , and can't wear it at work, where i walk around 15k steps a day. I was trying to find a way to automatically have my steps from my phone be added to my watch's step count/activity. Is this a fools errand, and should I just manually enter them each day? Or is there a way. Thanks

You cannot do what you suggest, any steps recorded on the phone go straight into the health app, they are separate from anything you record on the watch.
