Why do I have to quit messages, to close attachment window?

Good morning, I've noticed that after I've opened an attachment from Messages on my MacBook Pro, I cannot close the attachment window that pops up. It prevents me from being able to select a different one to enlarge. Even if I move the window to double click on another, it still will not open an additional one, thus leading me to quit the app in order to go select a new one. I have to repeat this process over and over in order to view each additional attachment.

Is this happening to anyone else? Thanks!

Does it have the standard close and full screen dots? Arrows to move between items? Share button?

If not, what do you see when you open it?

Or, do the buttons not work?

I don't think I've ever gotten anything but images and links, so if it is some other type of file, what type?

Well that's really strange! First, I have to admit I didn't even realize those arrows were there, and second, now that I've clicked the arrows the exit button works. Even when I quit and restart the program to just open one attachment (all of these are related to pictures) it closes now.

Very interesting that it only just started working, so I'm grateful for your help Barney, thanks!

Have a wonderful weekend,
