M1 Mac Mini not detecting USB Keyboard A1243? - (Semi workaround fix)
Hello peeps!
So just upgraded to to M1 Mac Mini running Big Slur and was having serious issues with it detecting my usb keyboard when plugged into the usb port.
This is super annoying. Sometimes it would work, then other times it will just not detected it at all. Making waking up from sleep an aggravating task, as I have my mouse's usb yokey thing in one of the keyboards usb ports too.
Anyone know how to fix this issue??
Workarounds:
1 - It works fine using a usb c dongle with extra usb ports.
But I would prefer it to work in the standard usb port.
2 - From I reddit thread I found a silly work around. If you have a bluetooth keyboard, turn that on and let the computer detect it. Once it detects the bluetooth keyboard, it will detect the usb keyboard.
(Apparently something to do with the lack of power requirements of the usb keyboard not being recognised by the computer.)
But this requires having to turn on and off again a bluetooth keyboard every time, and only works if you have one, so not ideal.
Anyone know of maybe a command line code or something that might resolve this?
Best wishes, Ethan
