App on Mac will not open

Hi,

So I downloaded Minecraft a few weeks ago, and it has been working fine, but today, it wouldn't open. In the force close menu, it only showed Discord and Safari but trying to delete the Minecraft app would make a pop-up saying "The item 'Minecraft' can’t be moved to the Trash because it’s open."

Why is this happening and how can it be fixed?

Thanks!

I am using a new MacBook Pro with no malware (The MacBook came with nothing downloaded, of course, and everything that I downloaded I made sure didn't have malware or modified system files).

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.3

Press: Command+Option+Esc

This will show you the list of Applications open. Press "Force quit" to forcefully close any application running.

If that doesn't work, try these:

  1. Open Activity Monitor and quit the application from there.
  2. Restart your Mac.
  3. Update your MacBook.
