Getting “unable to complete data transfer”

Trying to transfer data on my new iPad, but I am getting the message, “unable to complete data transfer”.

It sounds like you're using Quick Transfer. If so, please review the instructions outlined in Use Quick Start to transfer data to a new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support and make sure you're following them exactly.
