Ipad Activation Lock - Password Change Will Help?

iPad screen:

"A password is required to activate this device because its owner has used Find My iPhone to link it to their Apple ID.

If this is your device, enter the Apple ID and password you used to set up iCloud."

I have forgotten the password for this Apple ID account. If I reset the password, will I be able to activate my iPad with it?

Thanks

If it was locked using your ID then you should be able to unlock it with a reset password, which you do at https://iforgot.apple.com

It for some reason that fails, as long as you are the original owner and can produce a proof of purchase (which must include the serial, IMEI or MEID number) you can request unlocking as detailed here: Activation Lock - Support. Note that the process will completely erase the device.
