Cannot print wirelessly to Brother MFC-L2740DW

My MBA running 11.3.1 no longer recognizes my Brother MFC-L2740DW printer for wireless printing. I know the printer is on the network, it is listed as a connected device on the router. I can connect and print by USB so printer is functioning. FYI also my iPhone and iPad are no longer able to connect to it. Is this a known issue? Is Brother no longer updating necessary drivers or firmware? Brother website lists this printer as being supported in OS 11, yet I am unable to connect and print wirelessly. The printer does show up in the MBA Printer preferences, but says "offline" when I disconnect the USB cable.

I deleted the printer listed in Printer System Preferences, then added the printer back in. That worked; I guess the old one was not part of AirPrint. I had to shut down and restart my iPad before the printer would show up, but it popped right up on my iPhone.

Thus the solution is delete the old and install the new.

I have a Brother DCP-L2540DW that works wirelessly with Big Sur 11.3.1 and the Brother support web site offers the same information for your model and my model. The website is https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=mfcl2740dw_us_eu_as&os=10065

and Brother's statement is:

We recommend using AirPrint. If your machine does not support AirPrint, download Brother iPrint&Scan from the App Store.

When I installed macOS Catalina, my printer was still working wirelessly but I did need to install Brother iPrint&Scan for wireless scanning.
