I cannot connect to the internet I am using a tp-link rounter and the ethernet cable is connected to the thunderbolt adaptor so I don't use the only ethernet entrance I have in my Mac.
But Is asking me for a private address and I have no idea which is that one or where to find it .
Start with this...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Sys Prefs>Network>highlight the Interface you're using>Advanced>TCP/IP>Configure IPv4: Using DHCP.
Apply

Thunderbolt Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the internet.
