i have an ipad 9.7 2018 ios 14.4.

I store my passwords in settings/passwords. safari has started feezing and i read that if i clear history and website data it nught help with this problem. if i do the above will i lose my saved passwords.

Check Settings > Passwords. I believe passwords you see there will survive through a “Clear History and Website Data”.
