Landscape on my end in FaceTime not working on Mac desktop

Hi. I have Mac desktop high Sierra. FaceTime has worked perfectly well in landscape for years. Now when I click on make landscape it doesn’t hold in the drop down list, just goes back to portrait. Awkward as both of us want to speak to our son in the States

Hey Gill2781,

Thanks for posting your question about your FaceTime issues in Apple Support Communities! A great place to start is by restarting your Mac in order to see if the feature returns back to normal after it powers back up. If it does not you should then check your Mac for any available updates. You can do this by selecting the Apple Logo  > About this Mac > Software Update.

If there aren't any updates available then you can also try booting into Safe Mode to see if the feature is working correctly there. You can find steps for booting into safe mode using this article: Start up your Mac in safe mode. Best wishes.
