Purchasing iPhone

Why is the iPhone 12 Pro $400 CAD more expensive if you buy it in Ireland than in Canada. I am Canadian but am currently in Ireland studying but I desperately need to buy a new phone but the phones in Ireland are so much more expensive. I want to buy a new one but can’t convince myself to spend so much more money than if I just wait till I can get back to Canada. Because of the Pandemic it make it challenging to actually go back to Canada. Any answer?

The cost is based on the local laws for import fees and taxes. If you can’t afford the local cost, save your money until you can or wait until you can go to Canada to purchase a phone there.

We don't know. It's probably marketing fundamentals. Also note that In Europe taxes are included in displayed prices whereas in N. America they are not.
