Swapping iMac 24" touch id keyboard

I just received my new iMac 24" (green) - but I bought the wrong keyboard configuration and apple seems unable to help me swap it for the right one. Basically I have the default green Touch ID magic keyboard, but I really need the Touch ID magic keyboard with numeric keypad for my work - it's only $30 more to buy it with the iMac (an option I didn't see when I placed my order on April 30), but I'm trying to figure out how to swap the keyboard for the keypad version. anyone have any ideas? (spent awhile on the phone with apple sales and got nowhere).

We're not Apple employees here. We're all end users like yourself. You'll have to contact Apple at either a brick and mortar store or thru the phone number at the bottom of this page and ask for a customer support supervisor to talk to.

HOWEVER, if it's been less than 14 days since you purchased the iMac you can return it for a full refund no questions asked and order a new iMac with the correct keyboard.

That might be difficult because the keyboard is part of the "package". You can try to talk to someone at an Apple store (some things work better when done in person). But, the only thing I know that will work would be to return the entire package incl. iMac and re-ordering it, which is ridiculous. If the keyboard were a separate purchase, it'd be easy: return > buy different one.

You might want to have a look to see if Apple still sells a numeric keypad separately? That might be the easiest choice.
