Donut chart formula?

Can you add a formula to a donut chart?

For example, I am wanting to get the actual percentage number of a total: so 240.17 of 1466.59= 16.38% if you round it, but the donut chart is giving me 17.72% (color coded orange.) why is that? Does it not give you the percentage based off a total amount?

According to the tables you posted, the expenses you are charting total $1,355.69, not $1,466.59.

By my calculation $240.17 is 17.72% of $1,355.69. So Numbers is doing what it is being told to do.

If you are tracking expenses and doing a budget, be sure to have a look at the 'Personal Budget' template at File > New in your menu.

Anyway I could change it to give me the percentage of the total income oppose to total expenses?

If that is significant for you, then you could add a column in your table and in it calculate the percentage of Total Income, and use another chart type, something like this:

The Data References look like this (i.e. you're charting column C, not column B, which you can get by first charting all three columns and then clicking at the top of B and choosing 'Delete Series').
