Pros:

iCloud storage plans for the whole family

Apple Music family subscription for the whole family

All purchases made by another family member if paid or free you can download if you're in the family.

Apple card family sharing, set allowances, and different features.

Allows the ability to share a lot of things with family members, not just the listed above.

Cons:

If someone uses a lot of storage on their iPhone and you only have a certain amount of storage with your family plan, then they would use a lot of the iCloud storage and leave others with none, But then you could just upgrade your plan.
