trade-in doesn't match what was expected

I did the trade-in program to upgrade my daughters iPad. She had a 6th generation. I purchased the upgrade, received the kit, and sent it in. I just got an email saying it wasn’t what they were expecting and they would looking into it. What!? I gave them the serial number directly from the iPad. I have the original box with that same serial number. They accepted the serial # and confirmed it was an iPad 6. How does it not match!? If it is something to do with the condition, it was perfectly fine. It worked. There were no scratches or cracks.

Has anyone had this response?

As every case would be different, no one here can say why Apple or their third party partner company would not accept the iPad as represented - it usually has to do with its condition, not the serial number.

If you took pictures of the iPad before sending it in, show them the pics and tell them that they should return it in the same condition. If the company's name is Phobio, there are plenty of posts here - you can do a search.

Good luck!
