No sound is coming out of my AirPods

I connect my Airpods Pro to my iPhone 11, but no sound is coming out. I was reading that it might be that my iPhone is connected to an Apple Watch. I would love to use my Airpods Pro with the phone and not disconnect my Apple Watch. Is that possible?
