Turning iBook pages on the iPad with the apple remote

Something I'd love to see; using any reader; I have my pad on a stand; and Im engrossed in a book; with each page turn I have to lean forward and reach toward the screen; how great it would be to use the remote or an iphone in hand to turn the pages on the iPad screen. Is there an app out there that does this; or have I just given an idea to a developer....

If you are on a treadmill exercising then yes, a remote in the hand to turn pages on tablet would be preferred than having to break your stride, reach out, and swipe correctly; for every single page you want to turn. One after another.

A clicker in the hand is just a press of the button. So you see, this is a justifiable question.

So is asking why someone needs/wants to do that. And no, there's still no remote. I also don't thing the person to whom you're replying has posted in years.

There's some good evidence that while listening to music helps people workout more effectively, reading can be distracting from the workout, making it less effective, and, unless the book is at eye level (not on the usual equipment holders), it can have a negative effect on your form even when your not turning pages. Just something to think about.

And given how much treadmills vibrate, I can't imagine trusting that an iPad wouldn't eventually fall off. I'd find the worry alone distracting.

Yes, you can do this. There are products for musicians who use iPads for sheet music which do exactly this, page turn, although many of them are foot switches.

Here's one - https://www.musicroom.com/product-detail/product1129611/variant1129611/ (this is a UK site, but I am sure it sells everywhere).

I would like to see Apple Remote support. Remote is supported on Apple Mac desktops and Apple TV for movie viewing. Why not page turning as well, (and i guess, exit to iBooks, select another book ...) It's an obvious analogue to movies.

None that I know of. But seriously, it takes that much energy to lean forward?

Obviously no technical solutions here; but a very entertaining lesson in the moral rectitude of effort 😉 LOL

Moral rectitude? What's this the Sarah Palin school of language?

Seriously, I don't read anything that far away. The iPad font would require a pair of binoculars. I suppose a remote would work then.

As a medical professional, I'd suggest that we follow Occam's Razor (kind of corollary, I suppose) in that the easiest solution is the best. Go see an ophthalmologist. You need some reading glasses.

You are not at all lazy for wanting such a device. I'd like a remote either wired or wireless that can turn pages in iBooks.

The iPad is about a foot from my face when I'm reading. . .but the rest of me is in a cocoon of warm blankets and taking my hand out of the cocoon is annoying and all too frequent. If I could have a device within the cocoon, all would be good.

But I see usefulness of a device like this in your reading position as well. Once you are settled, what's the point of moving when you want to focus on your book?
