You never mentioned ANYTHING about receiving an iPhone trade-in shipping kit, instead of an iPad shipping kit.

Why would Apple's trade-in partner send you an iPhone trade-in kit instead of an iPad one?

Search online to locate and call contact your nearest, “local” Apple Store location to try/attempt to make an appointment to get your current iPad evaluated for trade-in at an actual Apple Store location to be able to use the trade-in value toward a new Apple device, in store.
