Apple Watch workout keeps pausing

Since I’ve started rollerblading again, I have had problems with the watch repeatedly asking me if I want to end or pause the workout, which I had set to Other. After some research I believe it because my wrist guard, even though it is open around the watch, causes my wrist to push against both buttons sometimes. That triggers the end/pause question. I have just experimented with moving the watch as far up my arm as possible given the size of the band. This would put it completely away from the wrist guard. It does still measure my heart rate in this location. Now I just need to try it on a long skate. It would be better if the end/pause question could simply be disabled.

Thanks. I read about this solution previously. It's awkward. Plus, that side of the watch is jammed up against a strap of the wrist guard, so it probably wouldn't fix the problem. I've had the same problem with I go out into my garden with gloves on with an "Other" workout going. Really, Apple should just make it possible to turn the darn end/pause thing off. Don't make users jump through hoops to deal with a stupid problem. Sometimes I think that Apple engineers and designers should go back and read through the user interface guidelines from the early days of the Macintosh. A lot of good stuff there that they seem to have let slip by. And I'm a huge, long-term, Apple fan.
