I have a late 2012 Mac and running Catalina . My internal SD Card Reader doesn't work.
this is the what shows when I open System Report this is what shows.

Do other cards work in the SD slot on your iMac?
Have you looked in the slot to see if it is dirty?
Is the card from a camera? If so, many camera cards are formatted in a way the macOS cannot recognize without help. I've used a Nikon DSLR for over ten years and none of our Macs recognize its cards' formatting in the Finder. The "help" comes one of two "translators." One you already have:
1) Find the app Image Capture in your Applications folder and open it. It can translate oddly-formatted camera cards and allow you to import images from the card. For Image Capture instructions, please see:
Transfer images in Image Capture on Mac - Apple Support
2) Download the image management software the camera maker offers. Those are also translators allowing viewing and importing.

I'm not really great on the technical side of all of this.
this is the a card the same as what I am trying to read.
To me it's the same type of SD Card I've used before. It has more GB I think than previous cards, could that be it? Do you think I need to purchase cards with less storage?

This is *not* the case with Canon or Olympus. Cards formatted by the camera are recognized just fine I would have thought that the DCIM standard would specify things like that.
internal SD Card reader not reading
