iPod Classic compatible with Apple Car Play?

Hi! This may seem like a stupid question, but I figured I would try my luck here. I just bought a 2021 VW Tiguan, and I realized the hard way that I was unsuccessful pairing my iPod Classic (using a usb-c adapter to a usb connector) to play my music (No Aux available). I was curious if anyone knew if it was possible to connect a Bluetooth transmitter to the bottom of the iPod Classic, and play it through Apple Car Play.
