I have issues in using office 365 on Mac Os Big Sur 11.3.1.

I can't open MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook by directly clicking on the file. So, whenever I want to open a saved file, I click on that twice, then I had to come and click on the Microsoft Icons in the dock. Then I have to wait for 25-30 seconds in order for the file to get open. Is there any other way to open the document by directly clicking on that's document.

Kindly guide.

Thank you.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.3

Thanks for that, maybe someone more familiar with Office for Mac may have a more direct solution. I would, in this case test the issue in a new admin account if you can, Safe Mode may be another good test, although the apps may not function normally, still may allow you to see if the documents open normally.

This may help to narrow it down. Likewise, did you happen to uninstall Office and reinstall it? Cheers.

Hey there!

Can you say if this started after an update? (Whether the OS or Office)?

Also, can you say which version of Office these documents were created on?

Likewise, does this happen when opening a document from ALL locations? (Such as Downloads or Desktop)?

Likewise, if you DO open an Office app, and open the file via File > Open, does it open straight away?

And finally, has this been happening since you got the new Mac? And did you migrate data from an older Mac with earlier software?

I think those answers may help. Another good thing to look for is older versions of Office installed:

Can you go to the Apple menu > About This Mac > System Information > Applications (Under the Software section), scroll down to where the Office apps are and see if there are different versions installed, and the location or file path of both, (If duplicates)? The location you’ll see below, after you click on the app, e.g. /Applications/ and so on.

Thanks!

Yes. It happened after updating to Mac Os Big Sur.

These documents have been created on Office 365.

Yes it happens from all locations.

No, again I have to click on the icon for opening the concerned file.

I have done this. All of the versions of the application except the Microsoft team are 16.49. Microsoft team's version is 1.00.407175.

Kindly guide.

I have issues in using office 365 on Mac Os Big Sur 11.3.1.
