Cancelling free trial on Apple Music

so I cancelled my free 3 months trial when I still had 1 month left because I thought the service was only going to end at the next billing date which means I can still use it for a month but the bill will not automatically go on, but what happened instead was that my entire library was gone, I just want to know how to fix it and if it is because I stopped the trial. Thank you

iPhone XS, iOS 14

Although when you stop a paid subscription it carries on until the next payment would have been due, when you stop a free trial it stops immediately and you won't be able to revive it. All songs you have downloaded from the Apple Music library during the trial will disappear, obviously: any songs you actually purchased from iTunes Store/Apple Music should not have been affected though they may appear only on the device used to purchase them.
