Peeling off of iPhone 12 camera lens

I have been using my iPhone 12 (Blue) for just 4 months and the coating around the lens has started peeling off and it looks awful. The lens is safe from touching any surface due to the cover. It is hard to believe as to why it is coming off.

Well, the most likely reason it's doing that is because the edges are being rubbed against something repeatedly.

Though that is the most likely reason, it doesn't mean it is the only possibility, however if you want any insight or help with this you'll need to speak with Apple directly -- though in my experience, there typically is no service options for cosmetic damage.
