Mac mini M1 2020 - diagnostics screen freeze

My apple diagnostics screen freezes at 1% upon starting the diagnostics screen. This is happening since I upgraded to macOS Big Sur 11.4. Till now I have tried reinstalling macOS, safe boot, then again reinstalling macOS till now no success. Can anyone assist on this please?

Hi anirudh225,

It sounds like you're not able to start Apple Diagnostics on your M1 Mac. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities. Let's see if this helps.

The steps for starting Apple Diagnostics have changed for M1 computers, be sure you're following the exact steps in "Start Apple Diagnostics - Apple silicon" and not the steps for "Intel processor" in Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac.

If the issue remains after following those steps, let us know if you have all external devices disconnected, except for a connection to AC power as outlined in the section "Prepare your Mac" in the resource linked above.

We hope that helps with your question and take care!

I have contacted apple support multiple times and tried all the steps yet the diagnostics screen continue to freeze.

Exclusively for Apple M1 Mac mini.

An apple advisor from India (Pallavi G.) made a statement that this is due to a bug in the latest release of macOS Big Sur 11.4

If you can ratify this claim and provide an answer that will be great.
