AirPrint: How to stop Security Warning message on every print

It seems this has been asked before, and there does not seems to have have had any real answers on how to stop this message. So let’s have another round.

I have changed to a new printer and have gone into HP Smart and removed the printer and installed the new one, But when using AirPrint, every time a pop up appears with a Security Warning that the printer appears to be a different one than previously used. Select continue to Print, or Cancel to Cancel. Any subsequent printing during that session gives no warning. But once the printer is turned off, then next time the warning appears again.

We have 2 different iPads, but using the same ios version, and they both do the exact same thing.

How do we stop annoying problem!

TIA.

That seems to be related to the protocol which is used for AirPrint.

I had this same warning when I manually installed an AirPrint Printer on my iPhone by creating a profile with "apple configurator2".

I forgot to enable TLS (encrypted data transfer) for the AirPrint configuration. After enabling TLS and again installing the profile to my iPhone, the warning never appeared.

In your case, should you not have installed any profile and not using an iPhone managed by the IT department of a bigger company, it may be related to the firmware of your printer. It is either outdated or not using TLS, so try to update to a new version or contact the manufacturer. Or live with it :-)

Thanks Giulio. I have tried your suggestion about the router especially, as I suspect the router would not have been rebooted since the printer change a few weeks ago. After turning off all devices for a reboot, including the router, the same warning still pops up. So will head over to HP forums to see if anyone there have any ideas.

I, just user like you, have recently changed my Epson printer, but I don't get any warning message, and I can't reproduce that problem.

I would try to turn off all your wifi devices, restart your modem-router (waiting for its complete autoconfiguration), then reconnect your new printer and all other devices.

If the issue still persists, I'd contact also HP support team and explain your problem.

Regards

Giulio
