Calendar view iOS 14.6

I am unable to get the event list view on my calendar in portrait mode. Tapping the icon at the top switches between showing the whole month calendar and the whole month with today’s events. In landscape mode the view shows the weeks events by times. I want the list view in portrait mode but can’t figure out how to get it.
