Some emails were sent/received without your knowledge doesn’t mean your device has been hacked , more rather your email service may have been ghosted

Someone may have created a ghost email account using your credentials and this could be on any device or even no device via web server.

First step is to change all your credentials, sign in and passwords for your email service. You may have to create a completely new one .

Also change any passwords ( if you use the same ones) on your iPad to be safe

Your iPad itself almost certainly has NOT been hacked
