Why can’t I log into my Apple ID

I try to log into my Apple ID on my MacBook it sends log in code to my other devices but then there is no where to enter the code on my MacBook. I’m lost, confused, and don’t know what to do??!! Help please

If you see a password box, enter the password (ABC) followed by the code (123) or ABC123 (no spaces).
