If I disconnect Bluetooth on my iPhone will I need to get close to my air tag in order to reconnect?

What do you mean by “reconnect”?

Your AirTag must be connected to your iPhone during the setup process. After that, there is no connection requirement.

Interrupted pairing new AirTag and unable to reset or find it in my iPhone Started pairing a new AirTag and got to the second screen and decided to change the name, so hit back, and this took me back into the Bluetooth settings screen of my iPhone, rather than to the first page of the AirTag setup. AirTag nowhere to be found on my phone. Checked in Find My, and it’s not there. Tried doing the reset procedure by removing the battery, etc., but the tone never changes after 5 battery removal and presses, and it never shows up as a new AirTag in Bluetooth settings. How do I fix this???

Air Tag connection problem. I had a new AirTag on my iPhone item list, removed it and am now trying to reinstall it on the same iPhone. The iPhone will not connect with it on Bluetooth. How can I get it to reconnect with my iPhone?
