Problems after leaving Family Sharing

After leaving family sharing, I am unable to update any apps that I downloaded while on family sharing, even when there is no purchased content in the app. Is there a way to avoid having to delete and install every app?

The guidance says I should only have to reinstall the app if I have purchased content. And I even called to ask if that was correct before leaving family sharing (so we could have two factor authentication).

If you weren't the one who purchased the apps while in Family Sharing, if you want to update the app, you need to delete the app. Then sign out of the App Store/iTunes, restart the device, and then sign back in.
