My brand new iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 14.6 is deleting all iMessages and text messages. The settings are “Forever.” I have tried rebooting the phone, turning iMessage “off/on”, etc.
Also, incoming texts show 1 line and disappear entirely when the message is opened.

Thanks for the suggestions. Verified no issue with storage (excess capacity of 100+ GB), activation of iMessage and Facetime was successful, correct date/time, latest version of iOS (14.6). Also contacted the carrier and verified that SMS is activated.
It is still deleting all text messages (despite "Keep Messages Forever"). :-(
