I'm migrating from an old to a new MacBook Air and it is not recognizing my user "setup user" password. My only options are to cancel or hit OK once password is recognized. If I cancel, does that interrupt the whole process or is that OK to do. What happens when I cancel?

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’re not able to get past the “Setup User” password when migrating from one Mac to another. We’ll be happy to help.
Hitting Cancel may only bypass part of the setup but we don’t want you to have to do that. To verify, on your older Mac, did you look to verify if “Setup User” was the name of an account you created?

Thank you very much for your response. It was off phone support hours but I did receive support with Chat and they were very helpful. After triple checking, he had me shut down and reboot holding the shift key and it worked. So we migrated successfully.
