You can use a USB PD (Power Delivery) compliant Power Adapter to Fast Charge your iPad Pro at its maximum 18W charging rate. Whilst you can use a higher rated Power Adapter, the iPad will not charge any faster than when charged with its supplied 20W Power Adapter.

As such, on the proviso that the Power Adapter of your choice is USB PD compliant, no damage will occur.
