Any step by step steps to put an SSD in an iMac 2011?
OWC is a well respected vendor that provides installation instructions including video guides plus they sell the necessary adapters for the SSD and possibly a temperature sensor adapter needed for some iMacs:

Keep in mind opening an iMac is difficult plus there are several very difficult to see and reach cables/connectors that are extremely fragile and very easily damaged. When you remove the LCD Panel, make sure to keep the LCD Panel upright making sure it won't slide or fall down. Laying the LCD Panel flat on a table could potentially cause the LCD to crack due to its weight.
The videos will make it seem really easy to open the iMac, but it is much more difficult than it looks in the videos.
First, you need to assemble the correct parts.
A thermal sensor

A Tool Kit

The 2.5 to 3.5 drive adapter

And a USB 2.0 external drive case...
Next, the SSD..
Known to work are Samsung EVO 860 EVO. The newer version is the 870.

Almost any SATA III SSD will work, but there are a few that do not...
I usually put the new SSD into the external case, then either copy everything over, or install a new operating system.
I then boot from the external drive, make sure the operating system is stable, then install the SSD drive into the computer,
Thank you for the tip. By the looks of it this is really a site confiável.
