Years ago, I had uploaded numerous owned CDs to iTunes and currently access them through an iPod. However, I cannot move/share them with my other Apple devices. This is because I uploaded to an old iTunes account which is associated with a now defunct email address. For that reason, I cannot verify ownership to the Apple site's satisfaction and I cannot find anyone to actually speak to about this odd issue. HELP!

Getting access to that old account will get you access to your past purchases from the iTunes Store, but will not help you recover files from CDs that you ripped with iTunes. Those files only exist on the computer where you did the rip, plus any copies or backups that you have made since then.
It is also possible (although not easy) to recover the files from your Pod, by the use of 3rd party software. See steps in here:
