Unable to check for update (checking for a software update failed because you are not connected to the internet)

I updated my iPhone's ios to 14.6 and I tried to repair my apple watch 3 to the phone but I keep getting this error Unable to check for Update (checking for a software update failed because you are not connected to the internet) Please help out it's over a week now and am still struggling to reconnect the watch to the phone.
