Will I lose progress in a game if I delete it?

So I have a game (My little pony : Friendship is Magic) that I downloaded with someone else's apple ID. I am now logged into my own one but I have a few problems with the game that forces me to delete it and redownload it. I'm scared that it will lose all my progress ( I have been playing that game for 7 yrs now) since I used another ID to download it. I have it backed up to my iCloud but I'm still not too sure what will happen to my progress.
